Summary

The CourtKit app does not send your basketball or health data to any server. It stays on your devices. The only personal data we collect is what you give us when you join the waitlist on this website.

The App

Your drills, shots, game stats, and sessions are stored locally on your Apple Watch and iPhone. Data syncs between your own devices via Apple's WatchConnectivity framework, a direct, encrypted connection between your Watch and iPhone.

When you start a session, CourtKit records a workout in Apple Health and reads your heart rate, active energy, and resting heart rate to show them in your session summary. This health data is only read and written through Apple Health on your devices. It is never sent to us or anyone else, and never used for advertising.

The app has no accounts, no analytics SDKs, no crash reporting tools, and no advertising trackers.

The Waitlist (this website)

When you join the waitlist we collect your email address and, if you answer the optional survey, your role, team or club, position, and why you're interested. We use it only to invite you to try CourtKit and to understand who it's for. We never sell it or use it for advertising.

The website is hosted on Vercel, which processes standard request data (such as IP addresses) to serve the site. We keep your sign-up (email, survey answers, and which CourtKit emails we've sent you, so nobody gets one twice) in our own database, hosted by Upstash. We send our emails, starting with one welcome email when you sign up, from our Gmail account (Google). We use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It uses no cookies and doesn't identify or track you across sites. This website uses no other analytics or trackers.

We keep your waitlist details until CourtKit launches publicly or you ask us to delete them, whichever comes first. To see, correct, or delete your data, email us at the address below.

If We Emailed You First

Sometimes we email people who haven't signed up, one at a time, to tell them about CourtKit. For that we keep your email address, your name if we have it, where we came across you, and which emails we've sent you, in the same database as the waitlist. You're not on the waitlist unless you join it yourself. We send at most two short follow-ups if we don't hear back. Every one of these emails has a link that stops them with one click, and replying that you're not interested works too; ask us and we'll delete your details as well. Otherwise we delete them when CourtKit launches publicly.

Children's Privacy

The waitlist is not intended for children under 13. If you believe a child has signed up, contact us and we'll delete their details.
